New Regional Representative Needed

Paula Loomis, FAIA, is completing her term as the representative for the Region of The Virginias. We thank Paula for her service!

If you are interested in this position, applications are now being accepted. As the Regional Representative, you would represent Virginia and West Virginia to the National American Institute of Architects (AIA) Strategic Council. The three-year term would begin January 2017 and end December 2019. As well as representing The Virginias, you would also have a responsibility to guide the AIA as a whole in establishing strategic direction and assisting with Strategic Council and National Board committees.

The Regional Representative will be elected by the regional delegates prior by June 2016. The delegates from each chapter are the same delegates selected by the chapters for the National AIA elections. In addition, there will also be a jury which reviews your responses and makes a recommendation to the delegates prior to their election.

Regional Director Sought

The Region of the Virginias is currently seeking statements of interest and applications for the position of Regional Director.

The primary duty of the Regional Director is to represent the components within the Virginias (Virginia and West Virginia) at the national level.  This position has a three-year term requiring the member to live and work in Virginia or West Virginia during that time.
