We wish to invite you to the upcoming panel discussion Richmond as a Work of Art which is being held to accompany the currently on view exhibition.
The show is installed in the storefronts at East Broad and North Second Street, and features evening lighting to create a glowing installation across the intersection.
An additional installation is featured in the gallery of The Storefront for Community Design at 205 East Broad Street.
The panel discussion will be a conversation of important contributors to Richmond’s urban landscape and will address the issues provoked by the exhibition. Important topics will include Richmond’s founding grid, the significance of site and historical memory, works that activate the urban environment (the ICA Building, The Slavery and Freedom Heritage Sites) and the importance of open space.
The dialogue will explore Richmond as a composition of elements working in concert, the city as a work of art.
